That's a name out of my past! Eddie Johnson was the team mate to Dave McDonald who perished in the 1964 2nd lap fire with Eddie Sachs in the 500. They were both (Eddie J and Dave) driving the Mickey Thompson built and owned All-State Specials.

PS....I wonder how they geared the midgets for the road course with a long straightaway and some tight turns?

I would guess to right at the redline on the longest straight, and hope the little motor had the guts to get off the corner? I'd love to find out in a modern midget!

Eddie is part of an answer to a trivia question - and a man most forget on this part - who has driven a upright dirt chassis car, a roadster, and rear engine car at Indianapolis

Sometimes I swear that Pat has two brains, because one brain can NOT be big enough to store almost 70 years of facts and information.

I want to find a sponsor for an event

Perhaps....if questions are limited to Indy 500 material. Otherwise, my money is on you.

Eddie most have been a very small man because that midget cockpit looks like a champcar cockpit with him in it. Anyone else notice that?
