Long story short sent starter out to be rebuilt when it came back it's turning wrong direction.
How can this happen and what have they done wrong? Thanks Bobby Layne |

To reverse rotation you need to rotate either the housing or the brush/armature mechanism 90 degrees. I use to reverse 12 volt auto starters by redrilling the one end cover to rotate brush mechanism 90 degrees. Simple trick, may have just assembled your R1 starter and got something indexed wrong, off 90 degrees. Inspect it closely. GFP
