Expensive weekend for owners. It has been nothing but a wreck fest.

Its the natural result of, "Restrictor Plate Pack Racing" which is a serious oxymoron. Restrictor plates are for kids classes in karts, NOT "Elite Professional" race cars. They need to remove the spoilers & air dams, narrow the tires, eliminate "Bump stops/Coil Binding" and trash the plates. Then they could actually race, because that wasn't a race, it was a 195mph traffic jam designed to cause, "The Big One". If I was an owner I'd skip both Daytona & Talledega until they get the rules right and stop dreaming up gimicky time outs and phantom debris cautions.

But couldn't the so called best drivers in the world deal with the cards they are dealt and not drive constantly in a style that causes wrecks ? They're already going too fast on the superspeedways and you want to take the restrictor plates off ? I think superspeedways are best left to open wheel cars. The real super bowl of racing is in May not Feb.

Sprint cars are still sprint cars. Champ cars are still champ cars. Midget cars are still midget cars. Stock cars haven't been stock cars since I was a kid. Believe me that was a long time ago.

Its a package deal, you have to make all the changes I recommended to slow corner speed. Then you can let them take the restrictor plate off to accelerate down the chute. A restricted cup car makes less power than a 604 crate now, but they have them so slicked up and bolted to the track that they can flat foot the whole way around. The cards they've been dealt are ridonkulous, imagine driving all day, foot to the firewall, never lifting except to pit and not being able to improve your position at all. The only move they have to make is to block, if you pull out, you drop like a stone. Daytona & Talledega are 98% the car anymore, thats why Danica was able to sit on the pole a few years back, the car was perfect and she is lighter than most all the male drivers and cup cars are weighed without the driver...

On a side note I won a hundred dollar bet that Danica would crash out. This was not based at all on talent, desire or her being a woman. I didn't think ANYBODY was going to finish.
