Question-Front Wheel Width for Non-Wing or Wing

My son has run a winged sprint for a couple years and we have always had 9" wide front wheels, 4 off and 3 off. He's going to run some more non-wing races this year with a DRC Chassis. Will the 9" wide wheels we have be OK? Or should we get some 8" or 10" fronts, or is it just personal preference??

Thoughts?

When we started a few years ago, Joe gave me a basic setup. He recommended an 8wide 3off lf, and 8wide 4off rf. Things may have changed, but I still run that
