R.J. JOHNSON SWEEPS USAC SOUTHWEST SPRINT WEEKEND; CLAIMS LAS CRUCES LOOT

Las Cruces, New Mexico………R.J. Johnson of Tempe, Arizona won his eighth USAC Southwest Sprint Car Championship points race of the year Saturday night at Southern New Mexico Speedway’s 2nd Annual “Joe Herrera Memorial” / “Border Tour.”

Johnson led all 30 laps in his Bill Michael-owned, Kodiak Products - Beal’s Auto Body/Sherman/Ford to take his seventh victory in the last eight series races (including special events) over Matt Rossi, Charles Davis, Jr., Dennis Gile and Matthew Cardenas.

Johnson now holds a 113-point lead over Charles Davis, Jr. in the latest standings heading into a Saturday, September 17 race at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Arizona.
