Thoughts and prayers to the Keel family. Saw on another board that he passed away.

Truly one of the great "little" guys. Did more on a shoe string budget than others did well bank rolled.

Well said. I remember back in the day coming to the Kings Royal with his numbers taped on his wing. One of the most "Down to earth" guys you ever want to meet.

Thoughts and Prayers to his family.

I remember him racing with SOD in the early 2000's. He showed up with a trailer that did not look big enough to haul a sprint car. Let alone a top wing, tools, spares, and everything else they had. it was interesting watch them load everything back up though. They had a system, and it worked. He raced with SOD until he snagged at win at Butler later in the summer. He just smiled, and said he finally got the SOD win, and then he stayed in the NY, PA area the rest of the summer. One of the nicest people, him and his father, that I had ever met.

I had a brief conversation with him at Terre Haute over 20 years ago. I remember it being the 1st night race and the 1st WOO show there and they ran under temporary lighting. He was in line to get in the pits and as I walked past him I asked how he planned to set up for a track he had never raced at before. He said no problem, he would set it up like he does for any other "**** hole" he races at.

I wish I could remember what year it was, but late 90's maybe. THE cricket had just broken the track record during time trials at the Indy mile and took a nasty header into the opening on the backstretch and we thought his life had ended right then. Thankfully, he walked away none worse for the wear. Watched the crew remove what they could and threw the chassis in the dumpster. RIP Craig.

The U.S. Dirt Nationals in 92' or 93' was the last WoO Show at the Indy Mile.
