May 17th, 1996 Scott Brayton (there are plenty of connections to the midget world at least, with Brayton Engineering engines thru the years) lost his life at the most famous track in Indiana (if not the country / maybe even the world!). I will never forget walking out of school & hearing on my Grandparent's car's AM radio (it wasn't until 1997 when my school really introduced me to the www & I checked Indy updates on it every chance I could get! lol) - ironically, it seems I have drove by the pickup location of that school on more than one May 17th by chance; but pretty much always think of that time every day I go by that area. Most prolly know, Scott's death put his teammate, a young & skinny (lol) Tony Stewart on the pole for the 500 (too bad Tony didn't at least do a couple more doubles...those 3 Cup champs will put him in that HoF tho!)
