It will be our first visit to Knoxville to take in some sprint car racing (yes I know they have wings, sorry). Anybody have some tips on what to do in Knoxville (plan on the museum), where to eat, and where we should try to sit at the track? What time should we get to the track since practice doesn't start until 6:45?
Any help appreciated.

Well a real dirt fan would set down near turn one so that you can bring home some of the track with you..Even for a weekly show, I'd try and be there by 6:00..There is a little place in town (like down home stuff that is great) when the name comes to me, I'll let you know.

Mr C's is just north of the Hall of Fame, and is the family eating place.

There is a cool mural of Earl Wagner on the side of a building next to the Post Office in Pleasantville, just a few miles away off from Route 5. I have a photo of it I took a couple weeks ago when I was out there. I'll post it a bit later today when I get home from work.

I used to sit in section A when I went to the Nationals in turn one. You can sit anywhere though, you don't have to arrive early with a blanket there.

Section D is a good section...height to your liking.

It is a real race track.
