Man the action was hot in the sprint & modified features & although it was not for the Thunderstocks. Chris Douglas did pick up his 1st career win in that division.

While Hud Horton lead the 1st few laps Jerod Horstman was coming from 10th place & fought with Tim Allison for 5th a couple of laps. Meanwhile J R Stewart was catching Horton. As all this was going on Max Stambaugh was running the low side up to 3rd when a caution came out with 2 to go. Then the race was on the last 2 laps as Stewart took the win & Horstman taking 2nd on the outside of Horton & Stambaugh on the bottom for 4th with Allison rounding out the top 5. The stop watch couldn't have ran much between 2nd & 4th at the finish line.

Now I know a lot of you don't care for the modifieds but that feature was pretty darn good also with Todd Sherman, Tony Anderson, Jeff Koz & although he was never a factor a fella by the name of Spalding in a # 111 stayed within striking distance just in case anything went wrong up front.
We all figured it was over after seeing Sherman starting on the front row but that was not to be as Anderson ran underneath him lap after lap & Koz right behind. At some point Koz got the lead & took the checkered flag from "Double Checkered" followed by Sherman & Anderson & that not so pesky but still hanging around Spalding in the 111.

Curt Spalding - a heavy hitter on a regular basis up here at Hartford Speedway.

Glad the action was good!

Nice little write up. Thanks for coming out. I wish the caution didn't have to come out in either feature at the end. They were both great battles. I really thought Spalding was going to try to figure out how to go 4 wide. Gene had the track in excellent condition and once the wind died it turned into a beautiful night. All done by 9:30.

Johnny, in the street stocks Frank Paladino trying to tear the wall down for 15 laps was priceless. Also the assistant flaglady is way better looking than the vertically challenged gentlemen of years past.Hope the track is in the same condition for my next visit for the Boss show June 10th.
