Phillips Motorsports is proud to announce that Kody Swanson will pilot the 71P Sprint Car in 2016. Kody will defend his two time Silver Crown car title in the 63 DePalma/Hampshire Car. We feel that Kody will be a real asset to our program. One of the hardest things to learn in racing is how to win, and he has shown that he knows how to do that, as well as conduct himself in a professional and honorable way. We have great sponsors and people behind us, and our main goal is to represent everyone in a way that makes them proud to be part of this team. We believe Kody and family will fit in perfectly. So, welcome to our family, Kody, Jordan and “soon to arrive” baby Swanson!

We do want to thank all the drivers who inquired about driving our car, and want you to know we took everyone into consideration.

I think Kody ran a sprint car for Hamp as well more than a few times. I'm sure that's what he's referring to. Baffled by the choice though. I will say that he's been great in the big cars, I've rarely been impressed with his sprint starts

Kody ran well at MMS late in the season.

Ran 2nd in his heat. Finished 2nd in the feature to Shane Cottle.

I have seen this driver win several sprint races. If he did not win, he was in contention or he had a mechanical malfunction. I am impressed with the choice and look for great things from this team and this driver. You will see him in Indy some day.
