Question about Outlaw karts

I was at the Indy Invitational last night. My father and I left after the first red flag during the Midget feature....
I've never seen Outlaw karts before. Just curious.... What is the purpose of having springs or shocks (couldnt tell which) on the framework that the bodywork and top wing connect to? Seems like the weight of the bodywork, especially the top wing, make the karts really unstable. |

Anyone have a price tag for a new complete kart ready to race? I heard a number, but couldn't believe it

Quite a discrepancy in motor cost, thanks. Back when I raced karts, we raced for trophies, do these guys race for a purse?

I was picking around at costs last night. For the Open class (What was displayed last weekend) are 500CC 2 or 4 strokes.
Indy Race Parts is carrying a QRC Roller for 5300. I went to the RFC Site and they offer a race ready brand new for 12.5k. Upon a quick glance at a Nor Cal Outlaw Kart Facebook page, I saw a few used race ready between 65 and 8500. |
