Open wheelers thrown Rumble Challenge

There are many current open wheel stars (Sprint, Midget, Supermodified, etc.) that have come from go-kart racing, but can they still wheel a kart? That seems to be the question of the day for this year's 18th annual Rumble in Fort Wayne (Dec. 26 & 27). A unique, very unique challenge has been posted. Six drivers return to kart racing in a $500 winner-take-all, 12-lap challenge. That type of race is normal, but what is unique is the method of line-up. The race fans will get to choose the driver they want to see start on the pole. Each vote will cost $1 and the driver received the most votes, naturally gets the pole position. All of the money collected for the six drivers will go the challenge winning driver's favorite charity. Now the remaining 5 drivers will line up in an old fashioned Crack the Whip event (by drawn order). At the end of each 3 laps, the driver in last position will be eliminated, and the starting order for the Challenge determined accordingly. So far, interest has come from C.J. Leary, Jacob Wilson, Joe Ligouri and more. Who else do you know that meets the criteria? Interested racers need to contact rumbleinfortwayne@gmail.com by this Saturday to determine if this event can indeed be held.
