SHOEMAKER GETS A MUCH NEEDED FINISH AT BOB LOCKARD MEMORIAL
Ballinger Racing: Tyler Shoemaker a Strong Run in Last Pavement Race of Season

Morris, IL (8-30-08) – Saturday night, Grundy County Speedway was the site of the Bob Lockard Memorial, the final stop at Grundy County on their 2008 schedule. Tyler Shoemaker and Ballinger Racing found just enough “spark” to finish the UMARA season on a great note.

“We did a great job battling adversity tonight, said Tyler. To get a solid top ten in our first real outing on the pavement was awesome. The guys worked hard all night to get it where we needed it.”

Tyler would start on the pole for the heat race. As the cars got to the cone, Tyler accelerated off the corner. The car on the outside never went so they would have to restart. The second start left Tyler 3rd going into 1. Tyler ended up 5th in the heat race. "The car on the outside just left us hanging, I am not sure if he fell asleep or what", said Tyler.

Saturday night's National Midget Feature was a scheduled 30 laps. Tyler started almost shotgun of a 14 car field. Tyler quickly went to work on the number 4 car. They battled for the last 23 laps. After the red flag, Tyler started to reel the number 4 car in. Tyler finally got by with about 6 to go finishing 8th. "We ran a smart race. I smoked the right rear off trying to get by a few cars but it stayed decent enough to finsh the 30 laps", said Tyler. "This really helps the confidence level going into the last few races".

Tyler Shoemaker and Ballinger Racing would like to thank all of its sponsors for the 2008 season including McLean County Asphalt, Gilmore Construction, The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Earl’s Indy, Weld Racing Wheels, Houtzel & Daughters Custom Carpentry, Mirm’s Bar and Grill, and J& J Performance Powder Coating. TSR also would like to thank partners Bell Racing, Oakley, Impact, and 5i5 Designs.
