Uncle Sam chose to provide a 26 month "vacation" in France for me in the early '60s. I attended several auto races during that time, in several countries. I was fortunate to see Phil Hill race at places such as LeMans and Rheims, France and at Spa-Francorchamps, Belgium.

So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a real class act; a great ambassador for his chosen sport and his country.
