The track promoter informs me that their has been insufficent interest from the 600 cars to run their own "nationals" at Moler Raceway on Sept 5th, If that is the case, The 600 uprights will be allowed to run with the MMSA with bonus for their finish in the "A". MMSA membership will not be required, only the $20 pill draw fee.
Check the MMSA website early next week for details. www.midwestminisprints.com Bill May |

Was looking forward to seeing the 600's run their race but guess they have decided to cancel them. If they feel they will get a low car count then maybe they'll have a low crowd because they won't see me in the crowd if that's how they want to do these drivers. They preapre for a race and you cancel it for that reason with less than a week before.

Fastone: The MMSA did not cancel the 600 nationals, we have nothing to do with the track schedule other than our races, Due to the fact the track cancelled them,The MMSA will allow them to compete with us as usual, with a higher bonus.
If 600 cars want BIG races with increased payouts, they need to support the tracks during the regular season, ie; 35 raceway only drew 14 cars for the Gettlefinger race with advertised $1,000 to win, Moler drew 10 cars for advertised $600 to win, Track promoters can't afford to pay these high purses for these low car counts. Limaland and Waynesfield paid $500 to win and drew 20 cars each, draw your own conclusions. The MMSA pays the advertised purse, regardless of car counts, all upright cars are welcome at all of our events. |

I was at the 2 races for the mini sprints that Limaland and Waynesfield had. They had 22 cars signed in on Friday and 23 on Sat. Car counts are down everywhere, and being a National race I knew of alot that were going to go on Friday. It's hard for some people to make a long haul on a Friday to support a track. 35 car counts have been down all year in all the classes. If they eliminate the 600 because of car count why not cancel the late models, how many do you think they will draw with the World 100 the same weekend? Just doesn't make sense!

I have had contact from some 600's that plan to make both races this weekend, with the regular 600 tracks down this weekend and the payout with bonuses offered at the "Nationals" Plus no MMSA membership required for either race makes it more attractive for all uprights, Come out to Moler Raceway Park Fri. nite, Montpelier on Sat. & have some racing fun. The season is almost over.
