A near perfect night at the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome found Kyle O’Gara in Victory lane at the end of the 50-lap feature. O’Gara won his heat, led the most laps with a third place qualifying effort the only blemish on his Saturday night.

Starting the feature on the outside of the third row, O’Gara went straight to work on Ashlea Albertson, finally making the pass by diving under her going hard into turn three. A turn two spin by Clayton Gaines brought out the yellow on lap 17, allowing O’Gara to close on early leader Logan Huggler.

When the field returned to action Huggler held off O’Gara until O’Gara duplicated his move on Albertson, grabbing the lead in turn three on lap 22. A red flag to clean up a two car accident on the front straight and a caution for a two car incident on the back stretch put Huggler back on O’Gara’s tail tank for the restarts.

When the race restarted on lap 39, O’Gara pulled away to record his 10th win of the 2015 season. The win ties the record set by Spencer Bayston in 2013. The win also extends O’Gara’s Mel Kenyon Midget Series career win record to 12.

Sitting in second place in the championship point race going into Saturday’s race, Dameron Taylor got shuffled back to the middle of the field twice and recovered to climb to second both times. His night came to an end with fuel delivery problems on lap 39.

Simpson World Indy Rookie of the Year point leader Trey Osborne claimed second, with first timer Zeb Wise nailing down fourth. Tommy Kouns rounded out the top five with his best performance to date at the Speedrome.

When the Mel Kenyon Midget Series returns to action on September 19 O’Gara will take a 78 point lead into US 24 Speedway. The battle for third in points finds Logan Huggler overtaking Albertson and building a 43 point cushion.
