“GOLD CROWN MIDGET NATIONALS” AT TRI-CITY FRIDAY & SATURDAY

DuPont presents the 7th Annual “Gold Crown Midget Nationals” this weekend at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Ill. and with only five races remaining in the 2015 Honda USAC National Midget Championship points will be paramount for drivers contesting the series title.

Races Friday and Saturday will culminate in a $10,000 winner’s prize Saturday and only 10 points separate Kevin Thomas Jr. and Tracy Hines entering the fray. Thomas is seeking his first USAC National crown while Hines is seeking to secure the final leg of what would be USAC’s sixth career “Triple Crown Championship.”

Don’t count out third-ranking defending series champion Rico Abreu, who now trails Thomas by only 42 points after winning five of the last seven series features.

Christopher Bell won the “Gold Crown Midget Nationals” in 2013 but last year’s classic was cancelled due to rain.

Both Friday and Saturday night's events of the "Gold Crown Nationals" will be streamed LIVE on www.thecushion.com.
