2nd “PETER MURPHY CLASSIC” AT TULARE SATURDAY;

Danny Faria Jr. leads the USAC West Coast Sprint Cars to Saturday night’s 2nd “Peter Murphy Classic” at Thunderbowl Raceway in Tulare, Calif. Faria’s series point lead stands at a comfortable 121 points over Richard Vander Weerd as Faria chases his second series championship.

Rains for cancellation of last Saturday night’s USAC Southwest Sprint race at Arizona Speedway in Queen Creek, Ariz. The series resumes August 1 at Canyon Speedway Park in Peoria, Ariz.

Faria has ended up on the podium in all four of this year’s West Coast Tulare outings, including a victory in May. Ryan Bernal has two Tulare wins this year and Bud Kaeding also has a win there.
