Inverness , Florida's Sheldon Kinser Jr. will be back at the "helm" of a Hurst Brothers Racing 410 sprinter Friday night June 26th in Bloomington , Indiana for his father's prestigious race the 27th annual Sheldon Kinser Memorial.
Hurst Brothers racing has a long family heritage started when patriarch Dave Hurst started racing back in 1933. Named Hurst Brothers after his two sons Dan and John the last meeting for Kinser Jr. and the Hurst Brothers team was 2009 and it has been on Sheldon's bucket list to return to the Bloomington speed plant to race his dad's race once again. "I'm going to give it a 100 percent but we could use some help with a tire sponsor or fuel for the #0 if folks are willing." "You have to be "game on" for this event and Dan contacted me wanting to know if I was interested so I'm hoping I can get a few of my friends to help with some costs a little to help me out." said Kinser "I'm not sure if I'll get another chance like this so I want to make it my best." Sheldon had talked with cousin Steve to line up a ride for 2015 for the race but acquiring a new job Sheldon was unable to take time off and help Randy Kinser put a car together. "Possibly next year I'll be freed up a little to take some time off to run out and help build something but nothing is certain in life." exclaimed Kinser "I appreciate this opportunity now it's a matter of all the pieces coming together." "I didn't know if I could get off of work until last Tuesday so this deal was put together in a hurry." laughed Sheldon "It's going to be great seeing all my old friends and my family and "Let's see if I can make my Mom and Dad smile down on me just a little." |
