Mel Kenyon Midget Series point race hot at the Speedrome

Indianapolis native and former Speedrome hornet Champion Dameron Taylor leads the Mel Kenyon Midget Series to the Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome this Saturday night. Taylor enters the 50-lap feature clinging to a scant 45 point margin over Ashlea Albertson.

Albertson faces her own challenge from Logan Huggler who’s riding in her wake just four points back. Taylor, Albertson and Huggler are the most consistent drivers in the Mel Kenyon Midget Series to date, separating themselves from the rest of the field.

Fans should be sure to watch Kyle O’Gara, winner of four Mel Kenyon Midget Series events this year, including the April 18th race at the Indianapolis Speedrome. O’Gara holds the fourth spot in the season long championship point chase.

Taylor and O’Gara are the most recent Mel Kenyon Midget Series winners, with Taylor claiming victory at US 24 Speedway and O’Gara taking the checkers at Anderson Speedway.

The Lincoln Tech Indianapolis Speedrome spectator gates open at 4:45 with practice at 4:45, qualifying at 6:10 and racing scheduled to start at 7:00. Two 50-lap feature events will highlight the night’s action featuring the Mel Kenyon Midget Series and the Speedrome Stocks on the legendary figure 8 track.
