Absolutely one of the best short track racers anywhere. And he could handle the big tracks, too, as evidenced by his 1971 & 1975 starts in the Indianapolis 500. I first saw Bentley race in the modified-sportsman National Open at Langhorne in 1969. Many time track champion in the super modifieds at Oswego, multi-time winner of both the Oswego Classic for supers and the Little 500 for sprints. Nearly stealing a SC win from Johnny Heydenreich at Pikes Peak when Hot Rod's tires went completely away coming down for the finish. A champion all the way. Thanks for the photo, Rich. And thanks to Bentley for all the memories!:applaud::thumb

Thanks Rich for another great picture, I believe that paint scheme was the last one Bobby Seymour ran on his car before the birth of the new generation SC car. So, I would say 2004 or 2005, possibly 2003; if I was at home I could pull out my 2002, 2003, 2004, & 2005 Silver Crown pictures an tell you for sure, I know I took pictures of that car at several tracks.

Dwight, thank you for describing Bentley's accomplishments over the years. In my eyes he is one of the greatest racers ever. He continues to provide his friends and fans with new racing memories long after most of his fellow competitors from the 60's have hung up their helmets. Bentley has run several supermodified races this year and has plans to run the International Classic at Oswego Labor Day Weekend. Personally, I do not think Bentley will ever hang up his helmet.

Posted via Mobile DeviceI worked with Bentley quite a bit and I can tell you this he is a class act on and off the track. Not only that but he absolutely stands on the gas ! ! I can remember the first time he drove for us at the Little 500 in 1991. You would hear people say "who in the hell is Bentley Warren" by the time the race was over they knew who he was ! LOL
