After the unfortunate rainout of the NSL/MOWA co-sanctioned Sprints Gone Wild back on May 15th, the folks here with the Neal Tire MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey's General Store and the rest of the CILTRAK staff searched the schedule for a date to come up with a great replacement event. The Double Down Showdown was born after a look at the calendar.

The 2015 season has been one that has been highly competitive, there has not been a repeat winner yet (4/10 Hull @Jacksonville, 4/17 Schuerenberg @ Tri-City, 4/18 Balog (IRA co-sanction) @ LaSalle, 5/23 Nienhiser @I-55). It has been a season where truly everyone in attendance has had a shot to win. Now, some more info on the Double Down Showdown and how it came to be.

The Double Down Showdown, which is also a part of POWRi Illinois Speedweek was a natural fit. With drivers like rising star in the stock car world Christoper Bell, 2015 Chili Bowl champion Rico Abreu, and 2015 Indy 500 starter Bryan Clauson all who have done double duty before, it made sense. The King of the Outlaws Steve Kinser also will be here attempting to make his 1st ever Neal Tire MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey's General Store start. With a nice bonus on the line for a driver to win both the MOWA Sprint feature as well as the Lucas Oil POWRi National A Main, there is going to be PLENTY of GREAT action all night at America's Baddest Bullring. We look forward to seeing everyone Friday night!
