2015 MTQRL Season Opens May 16th at the Montpelier Motor Speedway

The Midwest TQ Racing League presented by Jenmarco.com begins its seventh season of competition on Saturday May 16th at the Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Ind.

The Montpelier Motor Speedway is billing this event as “Family Night at The Races” offering $10 adult general admission, free general admission to children 12 & under, $1 hot dogs, and an autograph session in the pits during intermission. Gates are set to open at 3:00 pm, practice at 5:00 pm, and racing begins at 6:30 pm. Pit passes are $25.

The MTQRL is looking forward to dropping the green flag to begin our 2015 season. We feel we have a good mix of drivers with returning veterans and several rookies and others new to three-quarter midget racing.




2014 MTQRL Champion Cody Kiewitt


2014 MTQRL Champion Cody Kiewitt will be looking to retain his crown with several seasoned veterans including Matt Arrington and Ronnie Combs looking to win their first MTQRL Championships. Also, you can never count out four-time MTQRL Champion Tate Martz and 2013 MTQRL Champion Nick Speidel.

MTQRL President Chad Cunningham has put together an attractive sixteen-race schedule for our racers and fans and the MTQRL is eager to begin another successful year of competition.

Most of the MTQRL officiating crew will be returning. We feel our officials are some of the best in the business, and with their many years of experience, they oversee our events in a fair, unbiased and professional manner.

Tom Wilson returns as Chief Steward and will manage all aspects of the MTQRL on race day. Joining Wilson’s crew will be technical inspector Greg Stanfill, pit stewards Bobby Jones and Dave Rose, scorers Bonnie Bastian and Tyler Kelly, registrar Debby Stanfill, and the “Voice of the MTQRL” Kimb Stewart.

One newcomer to the MTQRL crew will be starter Dave Wilson. Dave followed in his father Tom’s footsteps, twirling the flags at the Lawrenceburg Speedway for several seasons. The MTQRL welcomes Dave and his expertise to our officiating crew.

In addition to our guaranteed purse, owners and drivers will be vying for several contingency awards and cash prizes that by seasons end will total over $7,500!
