IL or Indiana Midget Week?

I would love to attend both, but not able too for time reasons.
I have attended Indiana Sprint week, and enjoyed it much with the variety of tracks. But I love midgets, and there's not much to watch in SoCal, but I do have relatives in St. Louis and Quincy, IL. I have seen a few Summer Hell Tour late model shows through the years, but not really a fan of them, although my relatives back there love them, and actually do not like open wheel, they think it is stupid they need to be pushed off, and found it better for family peace, not to explain how many of the nascar stock car drivers came from midgets, and very few late models, I've learned ...... they love late models and there racing world revolves around them, you can't fix ............ MY QUESTION is Where would I be better off to watch midget racing, IL or Indiana Midget week. I know sprint cars are included in IN, but I have basically free lodging for most IL races with relatives in Quincy, Pittsfield and St. Louis. Help me decide which week to attend. I had really hoped to attend both, but family obligations are likely to only allow me to go for only one week, if even that. Hey did you guys hear, Ventura Raceway has 53 cars entered for this weeks coming USAC CRA race, and ONLY CRA cars are racing. (Last week, Ventura only had 7 or so VRA sprint cars, and I think PAS only had 21 CRA cars, so this is a huge deal for Ventura. If anyone could attend at a last moments notice, the best little track in America is having their biggest sprint car race ever ![]() Thanks for any help in deciding which week to attend, heavily leaning to IL to see family, save $ and see some new tracks and drivers. I believe Rico, Clausen and Bell are running IL midget week Cheers Doug |

THANKS GUYS
I really wanted to do both, but I can't. I have a bucket list of races I want to go to. Still on that list is Indy 500, Chilli Bowl, Calistoga non wing classic. Been lucky to attend USAC Sprint Week ![]() ![]() Thanks everyone, and maybe I will see some of you in Il next month. Cheers Doug |

Free lodging and visiting Family would give the edge to IL. However, if those two items were not in play, I would vote for Indiana. It is hard to argue with Midgets as the headliner and 410 non wing sprints as the support class.
While the overall numbers will be close or even a little better in Il. I think that Indiana will have a few more well named drivers than Il. I hope you have a great time, and I wish I could join you in Ventura this weekend. Nothing like passing the time between the races by gazing off into the ocean. |

I may be biased, but I would pick Indiana. My problem with Illinois is way to many support classes except at Belle Clair. Plus I would much rather watch sprints over micros. Have fun wherever you go.

I throw my vote in for Indiana midget week just solely for the addition of the sprint cars running on the same program. Car counts will be better with Illinois though as not many POWRI midgets end up running with the USAC midgets it seems. Do like watching drivers do "double duty" at the Indiana races too. Have fun either way!
