Pretty good racing tonight. 32 cars, 4 heats. Outside of Puterbaugh, Sisco, Gaines, and a few others I have no idea who finished where, or were even there. PA sounded like they were talking into a sock. Announcers ramble on with silly stuff or don't say a word while it's quiet then give lineups after cars are on the track revving engines. Can't hear a thing. Big crowd. I think there were a lot of freebies from a local business. Sprints over before 1030. Good part: no serious accidents. One car did a half roll (up on two wheels), a lot of spins that took forever to clean up. Otherwise, well worth 10 bucks and only 20 minutes from home.

I hadn't been to Putnumville in a couple of years. Happen to notice a couple of things while i was there. Dave Allison still doesn't know how to use a weed-eater and had weeds growing up all through the cement stands. Bathrooms still filthy. Officiating shaky at best. Bill Rose was put to the tail of heat race for supposedly "jumping the start" even though it didn't look like a bad start at all. At the end of the heat race Bill stopped at the exit of the track and had a conversation with who i believe is Bob Franklin. That conversation didn't seem to go very well because the next thing i knew Bill Rose's hauler was leaving the track. I don't know if he was kicked out or was so mad he left on his own. I happen to notice during what i believe was a bomber semi-feature a car actually spun out another one deliberately didn't even lose his spot and just got the green flag pointed at him! Track was hard and slick and looked like all they did was dump water on it. Crowd actually looked pretty good. 35-36 sprint cars. I just can't figure out one thing though......why do these cars keep coming back with the way Dave treats these guys?

Thanks for the input, I will try harder next time like give line ups sooner so you can hear, usually try to give them while the cars are on the track so the fans can see who they are......I am still learning, so if you have any more suggestions please PM me so I can get better. Thank you........

I understand your point, but IMO the PA at P'ville just isn't strong enough to be heard over the cars. Even when there were no cars on the track and when you announced drivers while they were wheel packing it seemed muffled. I think that was only my second trip to Put this year and there were a lot of cars I am not familiar with. I know Paragon was dark and some came from there. But....didn't change the racing any and that's what I came for. You'll never please everyone. I still like to go there even with the grungy restrooms and weeds. I've seen them higher than they were last night. Kudos to Siscoe (sp?) and his crew. They always put on a good show at P'ville. Was glad to hear a shout out to Don Duncan, my sometimes racing buddy, who works the pits at P'ville and still has a Street Stock. Don had open heart surgery at St Vincent's in Indy on Thursday and is doing great. :applaud:

You know, this place has a lot of potential, it's a beautifull facility laid out nice, easy to see all the way around the track from either side and is located in the heart of the greatest sprint car racing state in the nation.
Its just a neat place to race but needs some serious attention.
Just about every big name in sprint car racing has raced there and when I say that I can't help but think how awesome Bob Kinser was there for so MANY years.
It could still be a great place to race.

Last night was my first visit to the track and it was a good time. We sat over in the grass area on turn 4 and it was well worth the trip. Racing was decent and i couldnt stop laughing at the announcer during the bus race.

Im not to sure if im too fond of pushing the yuk tires out in the track but it is what it is.
