There were great battles for the lead and within the Top 5, for the entire duration of this barn burner. Coming off of the last yellow, you really got the sense that Bobby Stines had em' covered. But that's when Dickie Gaines asserted himself and showed that he didn't come here tonight to finish second. And not only did he win, but he did it in good ole' fashion Dickie Gaines snatch the trophy away on the last lap style. It adds so much to racing local racing scene to have this driver and his team clicking on all cylinders, like they have the last month or so. The Pottorff team is going to have to get a bigger trophy room if they keep giving Dickie the kind of race car they did tonight and have recently.

And how about Evan Barrow. This kid showed up tonight to race, hung tough against and even beat some of the best there are.

Like I've said many times before, there is no track that makes you feel more a home than does Bloomington Speedway. It's like watching sprint car racing from your living room sofa. Another thing they seem to be doing very well, this year, is selecting someone to sing the National Anthem. Tonight was yet another great rendition.

Jerry

Thank you for your kind words Jerry, I'm a little suprised actually. The race tonight was awesome especially due to the fact that it was my-father-in-law (Cam's) 67th birthday today so that made it all the better! Dickie was calm and really had his game face on tonight. :thumb Jared done a great job putting a good race car under Dickie. They seem to be lethal together right now. Thanks to Sabrina Cramer for making a yummy cake for Cam. I just wish Jesse's night could have faired a little better, that car had some motor issues tonight making it difficult for Jesse to manuever very well. It was also nice to meet Dirtfan tonight, it's always nice to put a name with a face

An awesome sprint feature, and, thinks to the time difference, I was back in Evansville at 11:00PM.

I would like to say congrats to Dickie Gaines on an outstanding drive Friday night at Bloomington. This was my first sprint car show of the season and was worth the 7 hour drive from east Tennessee. Way to go Dickie!
