I took the photo below of Herman Wise from Taccoa, Georgia at the Oswego Speedway Classic for supermodifieds in 1965.

Auto racing veteran and legend Herman Wise won the prestigious 1971 Little 500 at Sun Valley Speedway (presently Anderson Speedway), Indiana aboard the Dave Wise entry # 77.
Chuck Amati led laps 1 - 151. Herman Wise led laps 152 - 500. :Steer

Sadly, Herman Wise was killed on July 1, 2003 in a head on collision in Demorest, Georgia.
He was 65 at the time.

Have a good day...see you at the 2008 Tony Bettenhausen 100 :thumb

This is cool stuff. My memory of Herman was watching him flip the Zeigler Sprinter at Terre Haute in 1968. I'm sorry hear that he perished in an auto accident. The Zeigler Sprinter that Herman drove that day is the inspiration for the paint job we currently have on our car today.
