What kind of oil do you guys use in your 1000cc sprints? I've heard anything from 10-30 10-40 non synthetic to synthetic to rotella.. how often u change oil also? I was planning 10w-40 conventional oil every 3 races?

I personally use Amsoil 20w50 Advanced Synthetic Motorcycle Oil. But whatever oil brand you choose, you might want to consider a motorcycle type of oil, because your oil is also lubricating a transmission and clutches. I change oil and filter after every fourth night of racing.

Spectro Golden 4 Semi-synthetic 10w-40; it's what the previous owner recommended, changing about every 4 races as well. I had the motor out and the pan off about mid-season last year and the internals looked like it had just been put together.

I've used about all of them over the years, past 10 I guess, been Castrol GTX, 20-50, they told me not to run it tho if I was running a clutch, cause it would make it slip, but in the TQ we don't worry about that, usually change every 4 races, which lately has maybe been twice a year, last year didn't even chg it! Got a new plan up my sleeve, may get to run some more this year, I hope! Bob

I run Joe Gibbs Driven MX oil. It's made for motorcycle engines with wet clutches. I change it every 2 nights

I agree with Bill84, I have only used synthetic motorcycle oils, thus I don't think you will go wrong with any motorcycle synthetic. We change every 4 races as well.

We have always used Valvoline 20w-50 Racing with clutches and without problems. They changed the formula a few years ago and took out some of the zinc. I add it back in now with Lucas additive. The other that does work fine with clutches is Mobil-1. Our 600's have small pans and therefore quantity so we change it every 3-shows.

I use Yamalube 20w-50. Change every 3 nights. Run K&N racing oil filter.
