I saw some pictures from the shakedown at Bridgeport but can't remember where.

Nothing against Mr Tobias and his effort but isn't it sad what these once beautiful cars, with real Indy drivers and real Indy engines, have turned into.

However, Tobias isn't the typical modern-day racer who just buys a chassis and components from the current builder of choice. As his family has often done; he designs, fabricates, and assembles his own cars. He certainly is not a "me-too" guy and he puts as much thought and effort into his cars as builders from the past. With that being said, I too hope that the USAC Silver Crown Series returns to its former state of prominence. |

I love it! Would like to see some shots of the details under the paneling. And wide-5's on the front end... Cool to see someone take a page from other books to go racing.
Good luck! |

Tobias stopped running dirt modifieds fulltime in 1998 and then he began constructing his first USAC Silver Crown car. Many of the components on his USAC cars have come from his last dirt modifieds, including the wide-5's. It's not necessarily out of choice, but because of necessity. Richie has never run his racing operation with an open-checkbook or had high-dollar sponsors. He's also not one to go out and buy things that he can design and fabricate himself.
