Congratulations to the 2014 Montpelier Motor Speedway Midget Series Champion Tate Martz, car owner Gregg Steele, the Martz family, Beast Chassis, and Esslinger engines. It was a tremendous family effort between the Steele's and Martz's to win the 2014 Championship. Tate will receive a jacket, special trophy, cash payout, and will be predominantly featured on our website, souvenir program cover, and advertising for 2015. We are proud to have Tate as our 2014 Champion.

Also, congrats to our 2014 Rookie of the Year, Gary Gipson and car owner Gary Byers. Gary ran our Mod Lite division several years ago before following his grandfather's footsteps (a Midget competitor in the 70's) and joining the Midget division. Gary will be receiving at our banquet a jacket and special trophy for the award along with cash payouts for finishing 6th in the overall points.

Congrats to Shane Hollingsworth for picking up a hotly contested battle feature win for the September 27th feature. It was a tremendous race with Hollingsworth, Peck, Bayston, and others exchanging sliders all over the place throughout the feature.

Congratulations to Tate, couldn't happen to a nicer guy. And to Gary for edging me out for ROY.
Most of all, thanks to everyone at Montpelier Motor Speedway, for all of the hard work you've done to make MMS a better, faster, safer place to race, for putting up with everyone's, well, stuff week in and week out, but mostly for creating, nurturing and sustaining the Montpelier Midget Series. I've truly been blessed to be able to be a part of the action this year.
Hope to see a stellar car count October 11th. Even though it's not a points race we need to continue to support the best thing going for the Small Cars in the Hoosier State.

We had a great time in making our first trip of the year, the fun we had made the long drive well worth it. I don't think we can make the next one, but look forward to racing more of them next year. My son Mitchell said it was one of the most fun tracks he raced all year.

It was good to see some of the IMRA gang that made me feel so welcome on my trip out to Sycamore this Summer (even though I didn't recognize you right away without a wrench and a spare radius rod in your hand, Tom!); hope we can do some more racing together next year.
