Congrats to Jim Gardner on his MMSA win sat. nite at Montpelier, I know he has worked hard for this.

I believe this makes 4 different winners out of 5 races this season for the MMSA.

I would like to congratulate and thanks the crew up at Montpelier Speedway for the work they have done to their facilities and inviting the MMSA to race at their track. It has been several years since we raced there last, I did not recognize the track when we first got there. They have put forward a lot of effort into turning a once kinda of run down facility into what is now a "JEWEL" of a race track.

The track was a little dry when we got there, and a bit dusty for the heat races. So we made corrections to set up for a slick feature. Well the track prep people were much better at prepping the track than we were at setting up to race on their race track. They put this mysterious substance on the track right before our feature and I'll be darned it brought all the moisture stored in the race track right back to the top. Needless to say we looked like a sidecar motorcycle racer out there without the passenger make (Mental Note). We geared like before and found out we that were just a more than a tad too low (another mental note).

I sure hope we get invited back because I know we have a lot more to put on the table, Heck we might even think about coming up and running with that "Chain Gang" they have up there.

They said at our meeting that they wanted to be the "Racer friendly race track" and they sure are. They realized that most of us had a pretty long haul to get up there to race. Most tracks would have started us late in their line up. These guys instead allowed us to race first on the program. They told us that they wanted us to race have fun get payed and back on the road as soon as they could. They did just that. That in itself deserves a very big "Thank y You". We actually got home just a little later than we usually do from racing at Brownstown, or Twin City.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>"THANK YOU".>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

We had a great time, the folks up there were "GREAT" and we can't wait to go back again.

Congratulation to Jim on his win, can you say "Checked Out". I might also add he looked pretty legal to me.

DAD, I agree, they had us out of there quick last week. The track is awesome, we hadn't been there for several years either, they have built an excellent facility. For lots of stock cars the track didn't rut up real bad or anything.

Bad

Proof that it really doesn't have to be red clay to be an excellent race track. Race tracks are like farms if you want a good crop you got to know what you got and work the heck out of it to get a good product. They appear to be doing that quit well at Montpelier.

The race fans and racers alike up there don't realize how lucky they are to have two dirt tracks in such a small area that cater to open wheel racing. I sure hope they support both tracks and keep them growing, competition is a wonderful thing with the help from both fans and racer both tracks have the opportunity to bring great open wheel racing two night a week. It doesn't get no better than that.

Thanks to the MMSA and the WRP regulars for supporting the lightning sprint race last night at Montpelier. We had good support last season from a few racers (from both the MMSA and WRP) in the mini sprint community in our Midget division and that opened up the door for bringing a lightning sprint only race back to Montpelier. We were really happy with the professionalism, support (even with a poor prospect weather forecast), and the overall show you guys put on the track. Congrats to Jim Gardner for picking up the win. He was on a rail out front, but the feature was action packed behind him.

The minis are welcome back wingless at any of our future Midget dates July 26, August 2, August 30, September 13, September 20, September 27, and October 11. We look forward to working with the MMSA in the future.

I want to echo just how awesome Montpelier Motor Speedway is. The facility was top notch and the workers- everyone from the pit gate to the track prep crew that I talked with, were very professional and passionate about their race track. Everyone that I talked to with a Montpelier Motor Speedway Staff shirt that I talked to just blew me away with their professionalism. They had water running across the exit of turn 4 and made the track race ready and on time. Many tracks in the area would have called it quits with that type of adversity. On the entire 3 hour or so tow up there I saw plenty of standing water in the area and was just hoping for the best. Hats off to everyone.

Thanks again to the MMSA guys for promoting such a great series that is really fun to run and be a small part of. The people are helpful, the rules are fair and the field is competitive. Thanks to DAD for checking out the top three engines without bias to keep the costs down and keep a level playing field. I'm not sure that we can ask for anything else.

I appreciate the kind words and pats on the back after the race Saturday. That win was a long time coming and a huge weight off of these shoulders. And I certainly couldn't have done it without a ton of help from my competitors and my crew so thanks to everyone.

One a side note I want to give some props to my cousin Tyler Kendall who ran my old ERC car (the one I pretzeled at Bloomington last year) re-badged and painted as the gunmetal #20. Saturday was the first time he's been in a lightning sprint and, from what I hear, held his own until he threw a rod out of the side of the engine. Please let me know if he did otherwise and I'll certainly chew him out.

No racing for us this week as we have an engine to replace and rides to give at the Kentucky Speedway (have to pay the bills). I'm really looking forward to the non-winger on the Fourth at Columbus with the MMSA and hopefully we will make it back up to Montpelier soon either with the MMSA or the midget series as it just became my favorite race track.
