They just cancelled due to fog.

You aint seen fog till you've seen it coming off of "the big lake they call Gitche Gumee", to quote Gordon Lightfoot. I had to drive through 120 miles of it, to get to Grand Marais, MN a couple of times. It's the kind of fog that once it settles in, it's just not going to go away for a while. Like days.

Tonight's USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car event at AMSOIL Speedway in Superior, Wisconsin has been cancelled due to fog & mist.

Ok. Someone educate me.

Do the teams that made the haul get paid anything?

Does USAC still get their sanctioning pay?

And finally, do tracks usually take out an insurance policy on a "big" show, thereby recouping some or most of their cost?

At one point Carla was walking towards me and against her black coat there was white stuff coming down wet sleet and wind chill was 31 degrees not much fun.
