We wanted to get some information out to the racing community regarding our STP World of Outlaws event on Wednesday May 7th.
We do not have any tickets left for our grandstand. Grandstand tickets will NOT be available for purchase on race night. Pit passes WILL be available and we are not limiting the number of people in the pits. Please understand that we have limited seating in our pit area and we cannot guarantee you a place to watch the race. However, we have had some shows in the past with a very large number of people in the pits and didn't hear any complaints. Hopefully everyone can find a place to stand, a seat or a trailer that will give them a view. You cannot go from the pits to the grandstand. We have extra food service arranged for those in the pits. General public pit passes are $50. Why $50? Because the cheapest ticket to our grandstand was $50 and those people got on board early to make this show happen. We simply can't let fans come to the pits and pay less than those who paid a premium in order to support this event. If you are a driver who is not on the WoO platinum or travel list who plans to race, please contact Kenny at 217-371-3653 to make arrangements for discounted pit passes for you and a limited number for your crew. If you are a MOWA driver who will be at Lincoln or Flora this weekend, you don't need to call because we will give you details at those shows. We have an excellent modified race on tap to support this show. Names like Allgaier, Leka, Lynn, Fike, Delonjay, Wietholder, Griffin, Blakeman, Schnapp and several more I'm forgetting at the moment. We do not plan to run a B-Main for Modifieds. We will be contacting the Modified drivers that committed to see whether they prefer to close the field at 20 for no UMP points, or run two heats and take 10 from each heat with no B-Main with an open field for UMP Points. We are in the middle of town with a curfew exception for this weeknight race and expect a healthy sprint car count. We just don't have time for a Modified B-Main. Thanks to those Modified drivers who committed to this event. Event Times: Noon - Pit gates open 3:00 - Grandstands open 3:30 - National Speed Sport News Pre-Party begins for our VIP ticket holders. 5:15 - Drivers Meeting for World of Outlaws Sprints 5:45 - Drivers Meeting for Modifieds 6:00 - Hot Laps / Sprint Car Qualifying 6:50 - Opening Ceremonies 7:00 - Racing Rain Date: Thursday May 8th. Grandstand Ticket Holders: - Grandstand gates open at 3:00 - Seating is NOT assigned - You MUST have your ticket or have made previous Will Call arrangements - You cannot place blankets or stadium seats prior to 3:00 - Do not sit in areas marked as "Reserved" for our VIP ticket holders. - We have allocated 2ft per person for general admission. Please make sure any blanket or seat stays within this allotment for your group. There is plenty of room to sit comfortably if everyone uses this guideline. VIP Ticket Holders - The National Speed Sport News VIP Pre-Party is in the building to the North of the grandstand - VIP area opens at 3:30 - Grandstand seating has been reserved and assigned for your group with the input of your group "leader". We will have seating charts showing your seat location and your seats will be marked as reserved for your group. We have allocated 3ft of seating for each person with a VIP ticket. - Complimentary Food, Beverage and Band begins at 4:00 and will continue through roughly 6:30. - Driver meet and greet in the VIP area starts at roughly 4:15 and continues to roughly 5:00. (drivers meeting is at 5:15). Among those participating in the meet and greet are Steve Kinser, Justin Allgaier and others. - VIP guests are entitled to pit access for the entire event through a gate North of our grandstand. We will have plenty of extra help on hand to make this a smooth and enjoyable evening. Your cooperation with our special rules and procedures will help. They are all in place for a reason. To those who supported this event and purchased a ticket of any type, we want to say Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. Each of you were vital in making it possible. We brought the World of Outlaws to a little joint with only roughly 1,200 seats! We realize you paid a premium for your ticket and we hope you enjoy an event and have an experience worth every penny. We have watched sprint cars race at Jacksonville for nearly 30 years... and for the first time we will finally hear, "Jacksonville Speedway, You wanted the best, you got em four abreast. Often imitated, never duplicated, The Wooooooorrrrrrld of Outlaws!" Questions? Call or text (text preferred) Ken Dobson at 217-371-3653 |

It depends. Math says 1,600. Fire Marshal says less. With WoO credentials, some family, our staff etc, we will have about 1,300 in the stands. We gave a 3 ft seat to our VIP ticket holders. 2ft to the general admission. You could squeeze more than that in there, but we want it to be at least somewhat comfortable... and stay within Fire Marshal parameters.

Congrats to the Jacksonville Speedway staff for pulling this off. Took some creativity and guts to even attempt it. Gonna be a fun night!

This looks like a great night for the track, and I'm really glad for them. But, I'm a little depressed that, not only is the going ticket price for a USAC show half that, some folks here complain that it's too high.
