Lincoln, Clay County up next for MOWA
Series makes first ever stop at Flora, IL track

LINCOLN, Ill. (April 29, 2014) – The Midwest Open Wheel Association
Sprint Car Series presented by Casey’s General Stores ramps back up
with a pair of races this weekend in the heart of Illinois.
The two days of racing kicks off at Lincoln Speedway, Lincoln, Ill.,
Friday night, with what is the rescheduled night after the season
opener, April 4, was postponed because of inclement weather.
In five previous trips to the ¼ mile fairgrounds speedway, there has
not been a repeat winner. Korey Weyant won the series first stop at
the track in 2011, before AJ Bruns one in September of the same year.
Jimmy Hurley picked up the first of two stops in 2012, before Jerrod
Hull won the second event in July of 2012.
Christopher Bell dominated in the series’ only appearance in 2013, on
his way to his second MOWA series win of 2013.
Pit Gates open at 3 p.m., Friday, with hot laps at 6:15 p.m. and
racing at 7 p.m. Pit passes are $30. Grandstand tickets are $18 for
adults, $7 for kids 11-18 and children 10 and under are free.
Saturday, the tour moves southeast to Flora, Ill., for its first stop
at Clay County Speedway. The 1/3 mile semi banked oval is located at
7003 Hickory Hill Ln., Flora , Ill.
Pit Gates open at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, with hot laps scheduled for
6:45 p.m., and racing at 7:30 p.m. Grandstands open at 5 p.m. with a
$15 for ages 13 and up, and all kids 12 and under are $5.

Looking Back
Brady Bacon won the last MOWA Sprint Car Series presented by Casey’s
General Stores event, at Tri-City Speedway, April 18. It was the first
career 410 winged sprint car win for Bacon, who became the third
different winner in as many races this season with the series. Hull
and Terry McCarl also have wins in 2014.

• Broken Arrow, Oklahoma’s BRADY BACON became the 18th different
winner in 57 prior events
• CHRISTOPHER BELL led the opening 13 circuits in a Keith Kunz
Motorsports entry before an oil line caused his early retirement
• COLE WOOD charged from the tail to a career-best 6TH after changing
a wing caused by crash damage during an early red
• Bumper-to-Bumper IRA regular SCOTTY NEITZEL scored his best finish
of the year in 8th as he awaits Badgerland to thaw
• LEVI CURRY followed up a strong performance during the opening
weekend by equaling his best career performance of 10th and dominated
his Heat Race; the Heat Race victory was his first with the series
• Seven additional drivers recorded their best finishes of 2013:
