Hardy Boys Ready for 2014
(Terre Haute, IN) Its here! The long cold winter, is over! The stars and cars of the USAC Traxxas Silver Crown Series are back, and the boys at Hardy Boys Motorsports are ready to race. The Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, Indiana will be the place to be Sunday night as the 14th running of the Sumar Classic takes place to kick off the 2014 season. After an exciting breakout year in 2013 with driver Shane Cockrum the team looks to build on last year’s successes and break into the winner circle for the first time with the series. Three consecutive top five finishes to end the season last year at the Springfield Mile (5th), Duquoin Mile (4th), and Eldora Speedway (3rd) have the teams confidence soaring heading into this year’s schedule. “We did some really neat things at the end of last year, and I’m really proud of the program that we have built. Shane has done a phenomenal job to bring this team along for us, and we just keep getting better. Levi coming on last year has really made a difference, his depth of knowledge is just so large that it helps us take steps forward every time we hit the track, and we just keep growing with his efforts, Shane’s, AJ’s (Atherton, owner Infinity Shocks), me and our PR guy have been able to make some strides on that end and it’s just been a blast, and it’s only going to get better,” said Greg Hardy. Returning to the seat for the 2014 season will be Benton, Illinois driver Shane Cockrum who has been with the team since it came to the series in 2011. Shane will be a busy man this weekend, and all year as he also competes on the National Sprint Car tour as well as select races in Midgets, and ARCA. Also returning this year will be sponsors Four Seasons Ace Hardware, Simpson Race Products, R&R Enterprises, Donna’s Sweetwater Saloon 2, and Infinity Shocks, as well as Shane’s favorite car, affectionately referred to by the team as “Ginger”. Levi Jones will once again be head wrench as the team looks to build on last year’s successes and move forward with new sponsors Marion Underground Construction and Shane Wade Enterprises on the newly minted #66 Beast/ Chevy. They plan to compete in all 7 dirt races on the 2014 schedule starting Sunday at Terre Haute and ending in October at the “Moody Mile” of the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, New York. “It’s going to be an exciting year; I can’t wait to get started.” For any interviews or sponsorship questions you can reach the team online on the teams Facebook page Hardy Boys Motorsports, or contact Greg Hardy at greghar23@yahoo.com and by telephone(217)201-2128 or Twitter @greghar23 |
