This one is way off topic, other than it involves cars on a dirt track. A few local guys have dreamed up a two day enduro, 300 laps each, around the 5/16th mile Royal Purple Raceway. If that isn't enough, the rules are wide open regarding any type of cars, other than not being center steer. Front wheel drive, modifieds, super stocks, etc. Even more amazing is the prize money. $10K for each night's winners and another $5K for the hightest points total between the two nights. Too bad there isn't that kind of money being thrown at a real race. Typical for the Houston area, notice that the information in their site is geared for drivers only, with no info about fan admission, etc. That is largely why our stands are empty for all but the ASCS shows.
Here is the site. http://www.bigracepromotions.com I have nothing to do with the promotions, and most likely won't even attend or shoot it. Way to dangerous to be in that infield. I just posted this for thoughts, and kind of along the lines of a promtion post elsewhere. Too bad we can't get that kind of money for a sprint car race, winged or not.
