Momentum? Momentum is the next day's starting pitcher.

Hot Laps have ended and anticipation grows as 41 mini sprints and 36 Micro Sprints have signed in the pit shack.
The cool Fall air just before sunset makes everyone break out the sweatshirt that was being used for a cushion on the historic little wooden stands that are nestled between the mountain landscape.....WHAAAAT !!!
That's a vivid description of any Wednesday , Thursday , Friday , Saturday or even Sunday night in the Pennsylvania region around the Harrisburg region of the State during late spring ,summer and early fall where quarter mile dirt tracks or smaller like Linda's Speedway , Lanco Speedway , Path Valley Speedway , Kunztown Fair Speedway and further east in New Jersey lays the Bridgeport Speedway and at least a half dozen others that manage to run different divisions of mini sprints from the 270 Micro's to the 600's all the way up to 1000's with healthy fields in all.
Names like Buckwalter , Morris , Walton , Dicely ,Devault and LaMothe.
Second and in some cases third generation names like Pauch . VanHorn . Tittle and Brightbill make a night of memories and the same hard , close racing that their fathers "performed" every night in their "heyday" and hell a few are still showing their kids the way around.
Much more to the west the climate is much different and the mountain range has been replaced with hills and corn fields and in the summer the heat can be even more brutal than here in the "Sunshine State" but the state of Indiana famous for their small quarter miles but the racing is intense although the "Midgets" and 1000 c.c. "powerhorses" are more prevalent.
Names like Fort Wayne , Brownstown , Moler , Twin Cities and 35 Raceway are just a fraction of what racing is about in the "Hoosier" State.
The names are just as impressive. Names like Short , Thomas Jr . Darland , Stanbrough , Clauson and Ballou. These guys can thrill you with their "Daredevil" driving styles and open wheel racing like this is becoming a reality throughout the nation.
The little quarter mile in Ocala , Florida known as "The Bullring" Marion County Speedway has much work to do grant you to come close to these famous venues that have already made history but each week their hard work is slowly paying dividends as the racing is getting better and this little track holds many of the traits as these other tracks.
It's almost a guarantee that the feature events in both the Mini Sprints and Division Two Midgets are going to be "nail biters" and the entertainment value for a well rounded "family oriented" night of racing with midgets , mini sprints , micro sprints , mod lites and gadget sprints regularly on the schedule joined from time to time with 4 cylinder bombers and TQ's.
A few things are lacking one being other smaller quarter mile or 1/8 venues to partner up with MCS to run on their off week. [MCS runs every other Saturday night.]
Enough small tracks and I believe Friday ,Saturday and Sunday would not be out of the question to give Wayne Davis' midget and mini sprint series the shot in the arm needed.
For now Bill Cleary , Wayne Davis and the competent staff at Marion County are satisfied to keep on working at it and for now be the little guys and the "family track" but momentum is always there the next day.
