BOSS Set To Finish The Season With Eldora Sprintacular This Saturday

In just a little over 2 years, the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series has earned a reputation for providing fans with large fields of competitive race cars. With the 2013 season nearing completion, this reputation will be on full display at what may be the nation's most prestigious dirt race track this Saturday night October 12th. The world famous Eldora Speedway will play host to the "Sprintacular" event featuring not only BOSS, but also the All Star Circuit of Champions and the NRA Sprint Invaders. No less than 5 drivers will come into this final points event with a legitimate shot and earning the season championship for the fast growing regional BOSS sprint series. In 11 events completed so far, 10 different drivers have scored feature wins. In 2012, the series saw 11 different winners in 12 events. With these statistics, it is quickly apparent that fans can expect dozens of drivers capable of pulling off a victory in the series.

Series and track officials are expecting a strong field of race cars that will be led into battle by series points leader Tony Beaber of Gibsonburg, Ohio. Beaber has one win on the season at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway in June and just took over the points lead in the last event when current second place driver Brandon Spithaler of Evans City, PA got upside down in the main event. Spithaler also has one victory on the season at Mercer Raceway Park in May. Only 18 points separates the pair with Wapakoneta, Ohio driver Mike Miller sitting only 34 points out of the lead based on some very consistent runs. Sitting in fourth place is Polk, Ohio racer Aaron Middaugh who has come on strong late in the season. Middaugh earned his first career feature win at Sharon Speedway in August and now trails the leader by only 51 markers. In the 5th spot sits Westerville, Ohio driver Kirk Jeffries who may have the most momentum fresh off his first BOSS win at Pittsburgh PA Motor Speedway just 2 weeks ago. Jeffries now sits only 80 points from the lead, but within striking distance if the lead drivers encounter trouble in the anticipated tough Eldora field.

Also leading the drivers into battle will be the rest of the top 10 in current BOSS points including 6th place runner Chad Wilson of Toledo, Ohio who has made giant strides and is getting ever closer to his first tour victory. In the BOSS event at Eldora in 2012, Wilson started from the front row of the main event, and there is little doubt that Wilson hopes for similar success this year with an even better finish. In the 7th spot sits Cincinnati, Ohio hotshoe Michael Fischesser who just scored his first ever traditional sprint car feature win in August at Eriez Speedway. Fischesser will be making his Eldora debut on Saturday. The driver holding down the 8th spot is no stranger to Eldora Speedway, but it has been quite a while since he last tackled the foreboding high banks. Fans will be delighted to see the legendary Johnny Beaber hustle a traditional sprinter around the Rossburg oval once again.

The 9th place driver will also be making his Eldora debut. McDonald, PA racer Adam Miller made the commitment in 2013 to go full time wingless racing with BOSS while also running various Indiana speedways, far from his Pennsylvania shop. As the season winds down, the persistence is starting to pay off as Miller has had several great late season runs despite being down to his backup motor. Rounding out the top 10 is another veteran racer, Chuck Wilson of Perrysburg, Ohio who has many laps both with and without the wing at Eldora.

Last season's BOSS event at Eldora saw 34 cars on hand despite near freezing temperatures in late October. Ludlow Falls, Ohio driver Luke Hall won the event in a torrid battle with Dallas Hewitt and Sheldon Haudenschild. Hall has indicated that he will return to defend his win. Also planning to attend is 2012 BOSS champion Dustin Smith of Russiaville, Indiana who was forced from the 2013 campaign after splitting with his championship team. Last year, Smith raced through the B-Main and started deep in the field passing 15 cars to secure the championship in dramatic fashion.

The Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is an open tire series, but bonus awards are offered by both Hoosier Racing Tire Midwest and Lias Tire American Racer for the highest feature finisher with all 4 of the manufacturers respective tires on their car. Known for its bonus awards, the series is also proud to have the sponsorship support of Buckeye Machine and Fabrication of Forest, Ohio who sponsors the $50 cash "Hard Luck Award" of the night, Horne Performance of Dayton, Ohio who sponsors the $50 "Hard Charger Award" for the driver advancing the most positions in the main event. The "Steel Block Award" is another $50 that goes to the highest feature finisher using a steel block engine and sponsored by Ernie's Radiator Repair of Ashland, Ohio.

Heat races also pay out with the series and BOSS is excited to be partnered with sponsors such as Underground Professionals Inc of Ashland, Ohio, Indy Race Parts of Indianapolis, Kistler Engines of Fremont, Ohio, Southeast Harley Davidson of Cleveland, Ohio, and S & H Nerfs of Piqua, Ohio who help make heat race pay possible for the tour drivers.

For this event at Eldora, the series has been able to obtain additional sponsors to cover the twin B-Main events to add money to their purse. Jerry McClure Motorsports and Diebroke Motorsports have stepped up to contribute to this event. All drivers who attempt to compete in the BOSS show are guaranteed $100 at every event. But with the help of these fine sponsors, the first 5 non transfers in each B-Main will now earn $150, $140, $130, $120 and $110 each.

The BOSS sprint series has no registration fees and all teams are welcome to participate. Pit gates will open at 2 pm on Saturday with the BOSS drivers meeting scheduled for 3:45. The BOSS teams will fire motors at 5:10 pm with hot laps at 5:40 pm. Heat race action begins at 6 pm.
