I don't know about you folks, but I had a fantastic weekend...
Yes, Liberty was rained out, but after that, I saw 3 races in 3 nights and all were good or better. I want to thank the staff and management at Gas City I-69 Speedway, the new Lawrenceburg Speedway, as well as Kokomo Speedway for putting on excellent events for the 4th of July weekend. I am appreciative of the hospitality that all three of these places provide. It's always a pleasure to go to these facilities.
I had a good time as always at Gas City...I love going there. They treat the fan as they should be treated. The racing was great and it's fun to see the maturation of Cole Whitt as a racer. The kid really is turning the corner.
I was particularly impressed by the revamped Lawrenceburg Speedway, and the festive atmosphere they had with their beach themed evening. It was fun. Beach balls flying through the air with surfing music blasting over the loudspeakers, and a bikini contest to boot. It was a fun time, and I have to say that the Lawrenceburg Speedway has quickly taken over as the finest facility in the state of Indiana. It was already great, but now with that racetrack...my God. What an amazing place. I can't wait for Wednesday.
Then we head to Kokomo on Sunday, and what a race that was. After witnessing a great fireworks presentation, the action on track was even more explosive. Damion Gardner, Scotty Weir, Cole Whitt, Dave Darland, Hunter Scheurenberg, Jon Stanbrough and Chris Windom all put on a great show, with a ton of side by side racing, and a lot of great moves going on out there. There was too much going on up front to see it all. It was great...Kokomo consistently has THE BEST racing in the state of Indiana these days, and last night was just another example of that.
I just really appreciate being able to celebrate true freedom and liberty with three stellar nights of racing at three Indiana tracks that aim to please the fan. As a die hard racefan, I wish to say thank you for a great three day race weekend. Sincerely,
Dean Mills

Dean - Will you have any "recaps" of these events? Visiting family in out of state this weekend so unfortunately we didn't get to see any of these races! :crying: Very bummed! You always do such a great job & your work is very much appreciated - especially when I can't attend!
I can't wait for ISW!!

All i can say is one word about Kokomo Speedway last night WOW!! What a show the sprints put on, if you have not had a chance to watch some of the best side by side sprint car action in the U.S., you need to get your butt off of the couch and head to Kokomo Speedway!! The race last night between the "Demon" and Weir was the best i have seen in a long time by far!:checkered:
