Jim Anderson looking for redemption after disappointing finish in night two of the Border Battle!
Current STARS Midget point leader Jim Anderson and Guess Anderson Motorsports look to get back in to action this Saturday for the Darcy Pavement Nationals at Grundy County Speedway. After a good performance at Illiana Motor Speedway on Night #1 of the border battle yielded a 7th place finish, the team was looking for a strong performance at our home track of Grundy County Speedway. Jim would qualify 9th which put him on the pole for the first scramble. He went on to lead the entire scramble with Kyle Hamilton breathing hard down his neck at the finish. By virtue of winning the scramble Jim would start on the pole of the 50 lap feature and at the drop of the green picked up where he left off getting the jump on outside polesitter Bobby Santos in the RW Motorsports/Fontana Beast. He would go onto lead the first ten laps until Kyle Hamilton was able to get by with a pass into turn one. Hamilton and Anderson would continue to pull away from Santos while encountering lap traffic. On the restart on lap 35 a mechanical gremlin surfaced and relegated Jim to a 18th place finish. The whole Guess Anderson Motorsports team would like to thank all of our sponsors as we could not do this without all of your support. Thanks to D’Arcy GMC in Joliet, Packard Transport, Turk’s Collision in Minooka, Wermer, Rogers, Duran and Ruzon of Joliet, Shorewood Animal Hospital, CPR-Cell Phone Repair, RHO Chemical, Zemog Computer Technicians, R1 Graphics, Brown & Brown Insurance of Joliet, Edward Jones of Dwight, Party Bomb energy shots, Tim Delrose, Gene Kazmark, the Boban Family, Jim Staniszewski, Mr. B’s in Elwood, BEAST Chassis, Steele Performance Parts, Wilwood Brake Components, MPD Components, Paul Boeckman of Airbrush Dynamics, David Ward and his new Bad Ass Racing Oil, Winning Colors Powder Coating in New Lenox, RW Motorsports and finally the car owners Bob Guess and Jim & Sharon Anderson! We look forward to seeing everyone at the races this summer and we will do our best to put Jim Anderson up front this season!
