![]() Imagine if you will, 3 smiling faces holding these trophies!! Those 3 smiling faces would be Johnny Heydenreich, Gage Walker, and Cooper Clouse. Those are your top 3 in points, after the final night of the Honda USAC Ignite Dirt Midget Week! Due to some unforseen circumstances, we could not get a picture of the trophy and cash presentations to the winners. We also want to apologize to Cooper Clouse, winner on the final of action at Vermillion County Speedway, who earned a hard fought victory over Heydenreich, for not having his picture either.... It was so blurry that it wouldn't do the young man justice. Other than those 2 issues, the final had fantastic racing again in both heats, and the feature. The A-Main featured a great battle between Heydenreich and Clouse as they swapped the lead a couple of times to entertain the great crowd in Danville. Here are the results: FIRST HEAT: (8 Laps) 1. John Heydenreich (#22 Givens), 2. Cooper Clouse (#14 Clouse), 3. Joey Greening (#17G Greening), 4. Adam Thomason (#74 Thomason), 5. Austin Nemire (#91 Nemire-Yager). NT SECOND HEAT: (8 Laps) 1. Aaron Schuck (#53 Schuck), 2. Lynsey Tilton-Liguori (#41 Liguori), 3. Gage Walker (#7 Walker), 4. Kent Kriegbaum (#12 Kriegbaum), 5. Nick Corea (#77 Gray). NT FEATURE: (20 Laps) 1. Cooper Clouse, 2. John Heydenreich, 3. Joey Greening, 4. Gage Walker, 5. Aaron Schuck, 6. Adam Thomason, 7. Kent Kriegbaum, 8. Austin Nemire (#41), 9. Nick Corea. NT FEATURE LAP LEADERS: Laps 1-5 Clouse, Laps 6-11 Heydenreich, Laps 12-20 Clouse. The final Dirt Week Midget Points are: FINAL HONDA IGNITE USAC “DIRT MIDGET WEEK” POINTS: 1-Heydenreich-192, 2-Walker-175, 3-Clouse & Schuck-159, 5-Greening-151 The tie breaker between Clouse and Schuck was determined by best finish from the 3 races. We would like to thank Aaron Schuck from SET Racing for coming out and running with us all 3 nights!! 16 different drivers competed over the 3 days, and we want to thank them all for coming and putting on 3 great nights of racing! We also want to thank the 3 tracks for having us: Gas City, Putnamville, and Vermilion County.... We hope we can do this again next year! Final thanks to Indy Race Parts for their continued support of the series!! Next dirt race is September 6th at Kankakee County Speedway, followed by the next night at Macon Speedway. |
