Went there last night to start with they ran 20 cars in each hot lap session the flag man is gonna get somebody hurt guy was stopped on the middle of the corner took him two laps two throw yellow no sink in the bath room and takes two hours to get paid after race is over. And the ambulance can't even leave the property no license plate so it waits out by the road for a real ambulance which takes atleast a 1/2 hr.

Flagman has been like that for years. People have been complaining about it forever. Nothing will change until its to late, sorry to say.The only hope is drivers boycott until new flagman is found.

I have a couple of issues I would like to bring up. Two weeks ago I was sent to the tail for going inside the cone on restart. I did so only to avoid wreck. Then it was mentioned in drivers meeting if any one hits cone or goes inside it on next yellow they go to tail or scored on tail if race ends under green. After last caution the green and white were displayed together and the white 8 car punted the cone into the infield and I was told no official seen it??? The 8 car got to keep his position but I didnt last week? Next issue- there is no way the flag men should have started the first hot lap session. One lap before green was thrown front stretch was so wet that I could idle through it with my wheels turned all the way either way with car continuing straight. Then a car got upside down on front stretch. Flag man needs to wake up!!! I know I was trying to wave at flagman to tell him track not ready. Next issue- how does a guy that missed the draw start on the pole of the first heat race? #11 car?? To Keith I have a lot of respect for you and your track. You provide for the most part a smooth surface and a place for locals to compete and you have always been reasonable with me. and pit stewart that took Jim thomas' place, I cant remember your name right now sorry, I really appreciate the job you are doing this year. This job is a hard one to keep people happy, but I think you are doing a pretty damn good job relating with the drivers and I appreciate that. But these previously mentioned issues need to be looked at and something is gonna have to be done about the flagman before someone gets hurt. A lot of times us drivers are slowing down because we see a car spin before yellow is ever thrown. Please Keith take this as constructive critisism because there is a lot of things about Paragon that I do love and thats why I continue to come every week. But when cars are tore up in hot lap because the track wasnt ready and cautions are coming out way too late, that is a risk you can minimize and risks need minimized any where they can be. Thank you

I have been to many tracks where the ambulance on site can not leave the premises. It is not uncommon to have one ambulance meet another one. However in every case that I have seen it was a fully staffed ambulance, and it was a case of the track only paying fot it to be on site. I have never heard of a track ambulance. I can only speak about Michigan, but I gotta believe other states are similar. The state licenses vehicles as ambulances at certain levels based on equipment, capabilities, and staffing. There are lots of other things that go into it, like permission to work within a geographical area, etc. In Michigan, no track ambulance is licensed (that I know of anyways). It is virtually impossible for a track ambulance to become llicensed. The tracks often have a vehicle that says "ambulance" on it or resembles one, but is not licensed as such and has no regulations as far as equipment it must have or minimum staffing/licensing. It looks good to the racers and the fans and the insurance company, but looking good is about the extent. Some are very well equipped and staffed with knowledgable and skilled providers, and some have virtually nothing and staffed with people who have no emergency medical training whatsoever. The best thing tracks can do is to contract with their local Advanced Life Support ambulance service, which will be staffed with paramedics, to eb on site. That way state regulations are all in place. Spend a few minutes with the crew to go over the cars with them, the belt systems, HANS devices, etc, and have a safe night. A couple do do this, but most of the time, expect nothing from the track ambulance. Sadly.

I agree with several of the comments. The track was not ready to Hot Lap on, there were way too many cars out there in one session too! You have 38 Sprint Cars, why would you only split them into 2 groups instead of 4? Actually the bottom was still greasy in turn 4, even in the 3rd Heat Race, which I was in. Please split the cars up into more Hot Lap groups and make sure the flagman asks the drivers if the track is ready to stand on it!

Unfortunately, the flagman doesn't understand the term "stand on it". He is too busy sitting on his stool. ![]()
