BUDWEISER OVAL NATIONALS PURSE GETS $10,000.00 RAISE!

(Perris, CA, August 8, 2013) Perris Auto Speedway has some great news for drivers competing in the November 1st and 2nd 18th Budweiser Oval Nationals, presented by All Coast Construction, at the “Southern California Home of Major League Sprint Car Racing,” Perris Auto Speedway. The purse for the two-day Amsoil USAC National and CRA Sprint Car portion of the show has been increased by $10,000.00.

“The winner of Saturday’s final will take home $15,000.00 and it will pay $700.00 to start,” Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian said. “The raise comes from Mike Grosswendt at All Coast Construction. He is a hardcore sprint car racing guy and he wanted to get involved with the Oval Nationals. He has been a part of our racing program at The PAS the past few years. He is a great guy to have around and is appreciated by everyone including all of the drivers and our great racing fans.”

With the inclusion of the $10,000.00, the purse for the prestigious event now stands at $73,005.00. Of that total, $43,890.00 will be paid out in Saturday’s 40-lap main event. Friday’s 30-lap preliminary main will pay $5,000.00 to win and $500.00 to start. You can review the entire purse further below in this release.

“Don Flanders did so much and it is sad he passed away,” Grosswendt said. “It inspired me to step up a little more. I dig all of the promoters and have a lot of respect for them. Every single one of them. They put it on the line and I just want to help. What better way than the Oval Nationals and Don Kazarian? He is a class act all the way. It is a wonderful experience going to Perris every single time.”

“I love Sprint Car racing because it is the best sport I have ever seen,” Grosswendt stated. “It is so explosive and is so volatile. It requires so such skill and teamwork. It is so dangerous. I got hooked watching Chris Wakim up at Ventura. Watching Rip Williams kind of turned me on to watching 410’s. Ventura is my home track and I love it to death, but I really love the 410 racing at Perris and I just wanted to cast a vote for 410 racing. I just want to be involved.”

In addition to the USAC National and CRA portion of the show, the USAC Southwest Series will square off with the USAC West Coast Series on October 31st in a battle of the 360 organizations. The California Lightning Sprint Cars will also be in action as they close their historic 20th season on November 1st and 2nd.
