have a lightning sprint here in the shop , that was bought as just a chassis kit well the owner has been slowly putting it together rebuilding and replacing and powdercoating everything little by little.... well its at the final stages almost ready for the track and just getting it set up.... went to put on the brand new pro shocks for him that been sitting new in the boxes for probably 2-3 years and just double check the valving and the numbers on the shock arent what any other pro shock ive seen have on it.... they are aluminum thread small body shocks

so For example if we were looking for a 7" stroke straight 3 valve shock every other pro shock would have ASB73B stamped on the threaded body.... these shocks almost have like a serial number on them one says "32734" on the top of the body by the heim joint but then has a "3" stamped on the bottom of the body next to the shaft... then the other front one says "32737" and has a "4" stamped on the bottom so the numbers dont add up i could see if 32734 had a 4 on the bottom it would make sense .... the number on the bottom is that the valving? so if it says 3 is that a straight 3? because he thought he had purchased 3/1 easy ups?

i dont know if its an older numbering system has to be decoded or if anyones seen this before or has any insight feel free to comment ! just never seen it before kind of curious to know how to tell, and pro shocks was closed when i noticed or i would have called

The number on the end where the shaft comes out will be the valving of the shock. If you question the valving send it in and it can be checked and/or revalved to what you need.

What he said i have those numbers on mine to and some dont not sure what they are. But i go off the number stamped by the shaft thats your valving

From what I just read on their website, thay have evidently changed the way they number their shocks, and from that, I'm gathering that the "3" means it is a 50-50 shock, with a "3" valving both ways, maybe you can put in the serial numbers, and get the actual valving from Pro. Musta thought it was broke, so they "fixed" it! Bob

yea talked to pro today they said the same thing if its just one number like 3 on the shaft end its a straight valve , if theres 2 numbers like 31 its a 3 compression 1 rebound.... thanks for the info guys !
