As always the cars were flying at US36. This place is a great speed factory. I was a little disappointed that POWRi only had 16 cars. I knew the car count would be down after seeing the car count of 24 Thursday at Tri-cities, but I expected a couple of local guys to come out. I also expected more cars from Thursday to make the trip. With a lap 1 wreck and some other mechanical issues, the second restart only had 12 cars. With a track as fast as US36, you really need a full field of cars.
I am looking forward to the races tonight at Valley. They do run a combined midget show every couple of weeks so I am hopeful that some of their drivers will show up. I guess will can put retire the claim that POWRi has 30 cars every time they hit the track because it simply is not true. Posted via Mobile Device |

![]() Calling POWRi's number one cheerleader Andrew S. Quinn for help here. Waiting for the spin on this one. Track too big and fast? Friday night in July away from St Louis area? Threat of nice weather? And I will put this disclaimer on the post so some of the narrower minded here can maybe read the sarcasm toward Andrew into this. .

Many of the KC area midget guys also have sprintcars...and they race in their own backyard every Friday night at Grain Valley...that will limit the number of local cars willing to go to US36...plus, I feel that the reason PowrI is so successful is because most nights a guy with a 7-10 year old motor feels like he can be competitive on the smaller tracks.. US36 is fast enough that a lot of guys feel it would be a waste to make a 3-4 hour one way tow knowing that their old Gearte or Fontana is going to be out to lunch. When PowrI comes to Springfield, MO the mileage is pretty similar as going to US36, but the track is nowhere near as motor hungry, and there is always 30ish cars at Springfield.

Car count sky rocketed on Saturday to 17. A main was a great race. Top two battled the entire race. Daum won it but he had to earn it.

There's a lot of truth to the motor comment. We had another car ready but y put the laps on it to run 7 to 10. Tricity and u s 36 are just too fast for the older cars. All of the winning contenders showed up though and I thought all and all the racing was great!

POWRi has found a good niche in the market, but POWRi has it's own set of issues. If you are only going to race on small 1/4 mile tracks, you are limiting where you can go. |
