is there a coating or something out there to coat the injection base to stop water from corroding the water ports.

None that i know of... can use an epoxy or jb weld to fill the pits to get back some surface sealing area.

Yeh, if you could get it clean enough for the epoxy to adhere to it, might plug one side, and filler up, and let it set a few minutes then turn it over, and let it run out the other side, might stop it for a while. How about drilling and tapping, and run a hose from one side to the other, while you still got enough to work with? Bob

There are many coatings for corrosion protection for magnesium. A couple you could try is Alodine or Tagnite (www.tagnite.com).
The problem with these coatings is that if there is a pinhole the corrosion will be magnified and much worse than bare magnesium. |
