A friend of mine is building hydrogen fuel cells that connect to the intake system by vacuum hose just behind or after the air cleaner (usually a pvc type plastic tube runs between your air cleaner box and intake system) These are very simple devices that require baking soda and distilled water about $5 worth of the stuff every 3000 miles. Mileage increases are 40 to 70%.

Here is a website that shows how this works.

http://www.squidoo.com/doubleyourgas

The baking soda helps the distilled water turn into what is called "browns gas" a vapor, the gas is created by electrolysis. A simple hookup to your engines electrical system that comes on only when the ignition is on.

You can build this yourself for $25. I know some of you pull a long way to some of the races and these devices work best on the highway. You need to refill the water and baking soda about every 600-900 miles (1 quart water a few tablespoons of soda). I will post a link to a free blueprint as soon as it is sent to me.

Its my understanding that there are people all over the country building these out of their garages making money. I am getting one this week, a friend went from 19 mpg in his vortec v6 to 33 mpg.

I have started my own system months ago.. My first one turned into a stainless steel water heater. My second one has given me lots of low end torque!. I still have more than half a tank of diesel at 300 miles.:headbang

It's going to be a little longer to see how it working. To be serviced once a month, I think the car manufactures didn't think most people would do that. One thing I have noticed was engine temp is cooler! As he said one with a gas engine it will need a antiback fire valve. Diesel no problem there no spark to make the engine to go.

I don't know if racers building their own race motors know that the newer motor oils has less zinc in them. That means less friction fighting lube. Google zinc in motor oil. Solid lifter and cam wear out faster.:angry-smiley-007:

Watch this report from Denver! They all feel more power! Does power = Mileage? Mile High! Denver

I think you have to buy a special O2 sensor too. I think it runs too rich without one. I read that they call it a Lambda or something like that.

If it was that easy to achieve great gas mileage the automakers would already be using these gadgets, especially with the trucks and SUV's (sport utility victim). Here's a link to a local news station's report on fuel saving gadgets:

Mythbusters did a show on this recently. Their conclusion was there is nothing out there on the market that is truly viable yet for this to work as advertised. You can bet it would be HUGE news if it was actually worthwhile given today's gas prices.

Yes and no! They tried 100% Hydrogen as a fuel only! Straight down the intake! that is why it didn't work. That is a NO,NO! Then BIG BOOM! Backfire! Flames!
This is an additive, a gas not under pressure! It either goes in the air filter box or after the Air mass sensor. It can give the engines computer wrong readings! Wrong reading from your Ox sensor!

WATCH THE VIDEO!:thumb:angry-smiley-007: The Cop tells the truth!

Maybe one reason they don't do this. I did see a CHICK with a VW not add any oil or change it for 30,000 miles. It's oil pump froze! No, oil in the motor. The darn motor was not hurt! There are some people out there that should not be! You know the factory fixed her car under warranty. Oil pump and cam belt pan gasket! oil filter. I did not know I needed to change the oil!

I did write to MythBusters!:applaud:
