OT Tragedy at Englishtown

We are reminded yet again how incredibly dangerous the sport of racing is. Scott Kalitta was involved in a crash today after a Funny Car qualification run at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park. He did not survive. Here is the story:

Scott's cousin Doug was the 1994 USAC National Sprint Car Champion and currently competes in NHRA Top Fuel.

Thoughts and prayers to the Kalitta family.

Such a tragedy...the Kalitta's have meant so much to the sport of NHRA drag racing and Scott will truly be missed. Although Doug has been stuggling lately and had many on track disappointments, I hope that he can find the strength to carry on and win many races in Scott's memory.
