Anyone know much about these? I have a QC 400 rearend, is there anything available for it as far as axles gears etc? If not may ditch it for a winters etc. Just checking to see if anyone knows much about it. It has a steel non offset axle in it now and if I were to use it that would have to be changed, also not sure R&P is in it. It's in an older midget. Thanks!

I ran one in my sprint car several years ago. (and still have a bunch of pieces) The sprint car rear end used the same ring and pinion, axle and so forth as a Winters. Mine was a shifter rear and it had a tendency to break the coupler that engaged the two lower shafts. The lower shafts and the coupler were all specific to the Jones.
I wouldn't run it in a currant car, just because if you break that coupler, you're screwed. But if it's a vintage car and if it's right for the car, I'd say go ahead and run it. But these rear ends aren't that old (late 70's, early 80's) so I don't see someone putting one in a vintage car. Tom Paterson |

In the sprint car one, no. The seals are different also.

The Casale, Jones, Peck rear end I had for a midget, had 10 spline gears in it, and I think the R&P were originally out of a Henry J, altho the times I was in touch with Ted Cornis, who as far as I know, was the last bastion for parts, and he passed away at least 10 years ago, the last time I talked to Ted, he had just had a bunch of them run thru heat treat, then he passed, and I think I talked to Gary Schroeder, and the family had been trying to sell it all off to him, but they were just way out of the park on pricing, so Gary dropped out of the "bargining"! The ratio in mine was a 4:10, I still have chg gears for it, altho I do rework one once in a while, to use in my Winters. That was a rear with a lot of "owners", and it bounced from NY to LA. Bob

It's in a tq midget, possibly a full midget converted into a tq not sure yet. Older chassis thats had down tubes added been trying to figure out what it was, kinda looks like a grant king thats been updated.

Got a question, does it have one side bell, or two, the one I had, had only one side bell that unbolted, as most current rears have, and I think it was the one that ACRO used as a "pattern" for their new TQ rear end. Bob
