So what is the answer? How do we stop this from happening over and over?

I am not a gun person. I hate them. But if you like them, so be it. You have the right. I will not protest. There are so many guns in this country that even if they were banned, guns would never go away entirely.

I don't know what to think. I really don't.

Even with schools locked down, this is just another reminder that it CAN happen. Gunman described as a teachers son. Apparently a dispute spilled over from home. So very sad for sure.

This was done by a coward with no respect for human life.

I don't blame a gun, It didn't go around by itself killing anyone. Just read in China where 23 people were slashed with a knife.

I am however for responisble storage of weapons. One gun with one clip is more than enough to protect yourself and your family. Everything else should be kept under lock and nobody should know the combination or have access to the key.

I followed our streets Elementary School bus home this evening, I saw lots of long hugs when kids got off the bus. I had to pull over for a few minutes to get my vision back before moving on home. How do you explain to a 12 year old that there is this kind of crazy and evil in this world? I'm at a complete lose for words.

Sad day for a lot of good people. Now you have to ask yourself can you protect your family and friends if and when another crazy goes off. I choose to return fire and stand my ground rather than hide and watch with no protection.

I read something that made a lot of sense on another site "Less God More Evil" I think Bacon said it but not sure. You will never take all the guns away and when they try only the people that laws do not affect will have them.

I can make no sense of this cowardly act but can only pray for all the families involved. The police and fireman have taken a beating from the goverment latley, keep them in your prayers as they have to deal with this crap and continue on about there lives like nothing happened while the suits and ties hide behind there desk.

God Bless you all

My thoughts and prayers are with all the families who have had their lives affected by this senseless act today.

I know first hand the children of Sandy Hook Elementary will never forget today, back in 1954 one day my kindergarten class was being dismissed to gun shots, one of my classmates Dad's had just killed my classmates Mom in Montclam Park across the street from our school. The difference between then and now there was no National TV coverage at that time replaying what happend over and over again, just another small town dealing with a senseless act. My classmates Mom worked with my Dad and while I don't remember most of the kids names in that class, I have never forgotten that little boys name and what we all witnessed that day.

The kids of Sandy Hook will never forget the images of today, my thoughts and prayers are with those innocent small children today and will continue to be with them in the future.

Prayers go out to all in Newtown, Conn..

An as Chris said hug those you love today extra tight and tell them how much you love them. Do this daily!!!!
Today has been another reminder that anyones life can change in a split second.

Patti

We all complain during the racing season about dusty tracks, rainouts, track conditions, and much much more. We do this on a weekly basis. Next time whether its racing related or just our everyday problems, take the time to think about how good we all really have it. We know nobody will live forever ,but what happened today was out of everyones control. Make sure to say I love to everyone you care about every time you see or talk to them. I love all you race fans.
